Well, I have returned from my holiday in Europe and I'm easing back into the daily routine. I returned Friday and spent the weekend unpacking, doing laundry and grocery shopping. My first task was a big pot of homemade vegetable soup.
It is so good to be home. I had the time of my life on the trip, but it is always good to come home and enjoy the luxury of my own personal space. Mr. Rose had the house sparkling clean and a few wonderful surprises for me. He planted the window boxes and added three new Knockout Rose bushes to the yard! I love those rose bushes and now I have four in the front yard. I can't wait for them to take hold and add a pop of color and romance to the front yard.
Since I'm rested and have had time to reflect, my first reflections are focused on what was gained from the journey. Did I have the paradigmn shift I wanted? What was my biggest "takeaway" from the days I spent there? Did I grow from the journey? I had hoped for a few treasures, reconnecting with my verve, fresh perspective, appreciation, gratitude, inspiration, new friends and warm memories.
I believe I have had a paradigmn shift and it is the same as my biggest "takeaway" from the journey. SAVOR. That's what I've brought back. Europeans savor. I want to savor life the way Europeans savor life. I want to slow down a bit and enjoy each and every moment and sensory message. They live in the moment. They celebrate the little things. They aren't in a hurry and they put more importance on quality than quantity or size. Appreciation, gratitude and reconnecting are all a part of savoring the moment. It's amazing how large they live in less space, with less stuff and a life surrounded by simpler things.
I feel like my inspiration and fresh perspective are overflowing. I can't wait to share my new projects, ideas and the treasures I found on the journey. New friends and warm memories abound too. I have so many photos and stories to share over the upcoming weeks.
One other takeaway from my journey....I want a clothesline.
I have so many things to share...I hope you'll stay tuned for the adventure!
